Appeal For Island Musicians

Teaching assistant, Shannon Dunford, has been in touch to see whether VB readers can help with an appeal for Island musicians. Ed

I am a teaching assistant at Medina House School.

Medina House School is a primary special needs school on the Isle of Wight for children with a range of disabilities – physically, socially and emotionally.

This year the school has formed a PTA group to promote the school and raise money our pupils and their families.

We have already had a few events to raise money for the school – a curry and quiz night, pamper evening. All the monies to date have gone towards supporting our children in educational and or extra curricular activities in and out of school.

Summer Ball needs musicians
This summer in July (date to be confirmed) we are hoping to host a summer ball with a range of local bands, DJs, a casino and three course meal.

We’re looking for local bands, artists and DJs who would be interested in playing at our events (either at a discounted cost or free of charge).

As it is a charity event, we are hoping to keep cost as low as possible so will be looking for bands, DJs or artists to donate their musical talents or at the least give them to us at a very cheap rate.

Show case your band
The event will be well publicised and they’d be performing to a diverse and large audience – so looking for any kind of music.

With this, we’d be keen to show case young and up coming Island talent as well as already established groups, DJs and artists.
