Woodland shelterSpecial Branch have been keeping themselves busy over the winter, providing wall climbing sessions for young people with disabilities.

This coming half term holiday, the guys from Goodleaf Tree Climbing, who run the sessions, will be offering a different activity for young people with disabilities.

What does the day out involve?
In partnership with Aiming High, the young people will be going out to the woods with this experienced team to learn how to build a shelter.

Not only that but they’ll be cooking over a campfire and learning loads of brilliant woodland stuff with Goodleaf.

It all takes place in the woods at Brighstone, with everything provided for a fantastic day including; equipment, waterproofs and boots (it is February after all!), lunch, snacks and even an achievement pack to take home.

How cool is that!

Who’s eligible?
Funded by Aiming High for Disabled Children, Bushcraft Skills days are for disabled young people aged 108 – 18 on the Isle of Wight.

It’s thought this will fill up fast, so if you’re interested make sure you get in touch with the team asap.

Book now for February half term – Mon 21st & Tues 22nd, just £5 for the whole day, 10 am to 4pm.
