Royal Exit Productions brings a unique theatrical experience to this year’s Ventnor Fringe Festival with Claudwick, a sharp, satirical one-man show tackling themes of gentrification and privilege.
Performed by Alexander Boll and directed by Katharina N. Boll, the production will run for two nights only on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July at 8.45pm each evening, at The Bijou in the Fringe Village, Ventnor Park.
From ivory tower to Camden warehouse
The story follows Claudwick, a wealthy young baron from a remote German town who trades aristocratic comfort for an urban life in Camden.
Drawn by the promise of gritty authenticity, he purchases a loft in a renovated warehouse. However, he soon finds the city does not meet his expectations.
A clash of worlds
Rather than adapt, Claudwick tries to reshape his surroundings to match his worldview, setting the stage for a biting exploration of class, culture and delusion.
The show is described as “a Bouffon-Show on the choking reality of gentrification and the intellectual bewilderments of obscene wealth”.
Award-winning creative team
Alexander Boll trained at the prestigious Ecole Philippe Gaulier in France.
His performance in Claudwick marks his debut solo show.
The piece is directed by Katharina N. Boll, whose work has earned recognition across Europe.
