Godshill and St Blasius primary schools capture life at Naturezones in poetry.Inspired by their visits to Naturezones the two primary schools, years 4 and 5, put pen to paper and wrote and illustrated some thoughtful examples of Haiku poetry.

Haiku poetry is a Japanese, non rhyming form of three lines based on syllables. First line 5 syllables, second line 7 syllables, last line 5 syllables.
For example…
Flying all day long
Soaring through the breeze all day
Having so much fun
By Annabell
Blue Males, Golden Females
Zipping around the pond, quick
Lands with open wings
By Samantha
From buzzing wing
In a microhabitat
A wasp made a hole
By Emilia

Angela Hewitt, founder director said,
“This has been a long dreamed of project. We are thrilled that at last it has come to fruition. I would like to thank the teachers involved for making it happen.”
The poems will form a poetry trail through the woodland and the meadow at Naturezones. Y
ou can come along to view the poetry when Naturezones is open to the public on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
Entry is free for children.
