The Isle of Wight council announced the return of the Cowes Floating bridge last night (Monday).
It resumed service at 20:00 hrs.
Technical issues had been identified in both generators. A specialist engineer was called in to resolve the problems. Adjustments were made and a series of tests were carried out.
After monitoring the results, the operations resumed.
The council issued an apology for any disruption caused. The bridge is now fully operational, connecting East and West Cowes again.
