Eurosceptic Grassroots Out and local WightOut groups held their first public meeting on Thursday 17th March in Bembridge Village Hall.

Speakers included Ian Brown of Business for Britain, Tim Bristow the Island’s Referendum Party candidate in 1997, and last year’s General Election runner-up UKIP’s Iain McKie.

The turnout was around 60 people and Ian Brown said that he “was very pleased with the numbers attending,” and added “it was very heartening to hear such a high standard of questions from the audience on a wide variety of subjects relating to the European Union.”
