Fire Service tackling large fire at Newport boat workshop

The Isle of Wight Fire Service were called to a large fire at Newport Quay earlier tonight (19.55).

Initially reported as being a Odessa Marina, but later changed to Blackhouse Quay, the fire at the boat workshop is said to be ‘well alight’.

The Fire Service tell us that they have four crews attending, the fire in the single story 30x30m building.

The Police and Ambulance service were called and they confirm that ‘all are accounted for’.

As at 21.37 the Fire Service are still fighting the fire with three jets.
