Footprint Trust Release Short Film: Running Man

Footprint Trust’s Ray Harrington-Vail is a pretty forward thinking chap – not surprising really given he’s been banging on about the importance of eco-friendly living for donkey’s years.

So, we weren’t in the least bit surprised when we heard that he has embraced the power of the Internet and is using YouTube to help spread the word to a younger audience.

Working with Ventnor-based Utility Films, the two minute short film, The Running Man, tells a romantic tale from the Isle of Wight featuring local comedian and actress Hannah George.

Ray told us “The problem with leaflets is that they are overused. We have too much information and thus many are thrown away without being read. Many young people like the Internet and choose that as their main source of entertainment and for gathering information.

“We originally we going to have a cinema advert but this proved too expensive. We opted for YouTube as a way of getting to younger people who may not be aware of our message. The use of comedy was very important. The video looks like a advert for a forthcoming movie.

“Working with Utility Films of Ventnor was a great experience and we feel our message has been helped by their expertise and film-making knowledge. We suggest other charities and businesses look at this medium.”
