The Niton and Whitwell Parish Council has stepped in to organise a minibus service following Isle of Wight Council cuts to community bus services. The new service launches next week.
The alert is specifically for residents in the areas of Arreton, Alverstone and Langbridge where properties are potentially at risk of flooding say the Environment Agency.
The Environment Agency say there will be extensive out of bank flooding, affecting, roads, cycle tracks and caravan parks along the whole valley and this will be the highest the Eastern Yar has been so far this winter season.
Minor impact flooding is expected in some parts of the Eastern Yar, but with dry weather now until Thursday, it should give the river a chance to recover
