James Hickman and Dan Cassidy return to the Island

Thanks to Vic for details of this upcoming gig being organised by Vaguely Sunny. Ed

The next Vaguely Sunny concerts will see the welcome return to the Isle of Wight of James Hickman and Dan Cassidy following their first visit in 2010 when they impressed audiences with their diverse range of songs and tunes, including Bluegrass, Cajun and Celtic material.

A return visit last year had to be cancelled on the morning of the first of their two scheduled concerts because James’s partner was about to give birth.

As a Transatlantic duo, their music is very much influenced by the traditions of both Britain and America.

Background on Dan and James
James Hickman is from Shrewsbury in Shropshire. He is the lead singer in the duo, an excellent interpreter of folksong and an emotive songwriter.

With James will be Dan Cassidy who hails from Maryland, USA. A very exciting virtuoso musician, Dan is the brother of the late Eva Cassidy whose music has enjoyed enormous popularity in recent years. Dan appears on several of Eva’s recordings.

James and Dan will be supported by young Island singer Charlotte Callaghan. Tickets for the concert are £10.00 each and can be booked in advance by phoning 730930.
