You may have seen the clip from the Minghella Movie Marathon, where Jude Law explained that he didn’t know, at the time, how lucky he was when making The Talented Mr Ripley with Anthony Minghella.
Today’s clip is his response to being asked if he thought his acting had improved over the period of making films with Anthony.
Reflecting, Jude replied, “You always come out of a film having learnt something. With Anthony by your side, leading you, you often felt that you were learning something that was a lot more than the surface value of what this film might mean, or what the character might mean.
“You often felt that you’d met some new people or learnt how to overcome something, because it felt like a very personal experience.
“It ran a lot deeper that the parts just rubbing off, or the experience of make just another film – it was more the experience of working with a new group of people and overcoming new hurdles together.”
Thanks again to Mike Furness (TV industry veteran and part of the soon-to-launch VentnorTV team) for shooting the video.
