A pig’s head is not the kind of thing you’d expect to find on a beach whilst taking in the beautiful sunset, but that’s what apparently happened to Islander Mat Riches last night (Wednesday) when he was walking on the shore in Gurnard marshes.
And then again this morning, but this time the number of heads had multiplied to another five!

Being the model citizen that he is, Mat bagged up the heads and informed the council. He also posted a warning to dog walkers on the Cowes, Northwood & Gurnard Community Notice Board on Facebook,
“Possibly worth warning dog owners…pigs heads are washing up in front of the chalets near the luck. There’s about five this morning! Praying it’s not voodoo stuff or Isle of Wight Godfather remake…and there’s just been a small mishap out at sea.
Have bagged up ones I’ve seen and reported to council, but the tide is coming in and don’t know if it will bring more. This is not cool.”
