Niton Ladies donate ‘thank you’ cheque to Foodbank

Thanks to CPRE-IW Chairman John Langley for this latest news. Ed

The Island branch of Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE-IW) recently awarded a ‘thank you’ certificate and a cheque for £50 to a valiant set of citizens collectively known as The Niton Ladies Group.

These civic-minded people had cleared their village car park and its surrounding area of unsightly litter as part of CPRE-IW Stop the Drop campaign.

Pictured above are this awesome collection of anti-litter champions being awarded their just desserts by CPRE-IW Chairman, John Langley.

The event took place in the charming Niton Post Office tea garden where the Proprietor generously provided refreshments ‘on the house’.

John was pleased to learn that the ladies of Niton wanted their cheque to be in favour of the Ventnor Food Bank – a very worthy cause!

Well done ladies and we would like to see you do another litter pick before too long.
