The masterplan will "visualise and provide a framework for a waterfront reinvigorated by mixed use development, reinforcing Newport’s role as a county town and a visitor destination".
The workshops will focus on draft strategic objectives, identify key harbour assets to be retained and enhanced for future generations and hear a summary of the conversations already gathered.
The brief for the 2018 Young Designers Award will be released next month and the award will see an overall winner selected by public vote from the winning entries from each category.

Last night the Cabinet voted to on boundary/asset changes for Newport Harbour and agreed that there was no compelling public interest in terminating the existing leases granted for longer than three years (legal requirement is three years).
