Newport Harbour: Judicial Review hearing refused by Judge

Back in July, On the Wight reported the application made by resident Robert Turner, for a Judicial Review of the Isle of Wight Council’s decision on boundary changes and leases at Newport Harbour.

Chris Dodd, secretary of Newport Harbour Action Group, who assisted with information and documents for the Judicial Review, tells us that the application has been rejected by His Honour, Judge William Davis QC.

Filed too late
Cited amongst the reasons given for refusal to take to Judicial Review was that the claim had not been lodged within the specified three month period of the decision being made by the council.

The Judge says in his order that the Claimant (Robert Turner) made it clear in his statement that his real complaint related to the current state of the harbour and lack of investment into it by the Defendant, the Isle of Wight council.

We’ve embedded the Order below for your convenience.
