Earl Mountbatten Hospice is delighted to welcome two talented musicians to the John Cheverton Centre as part of its successful 2016/17 Concert Series.

From 7:30pm on Friday 9 December, saxophonist Amy Green and pianist Christine Zerafa will be performing a range of works by composers including Vaughan Williams and Milhaud.

A rising star
Amy is one of the rising stars of our generation and studied at the Royal College of Music, since winning a number of prestigious awards.

She has given recitals at venues including London’s Royal Festival Hall and the National Gallery, as well as performing as a soloist in the BBC Proms Plus series, which was broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Award-winning musician
Accompanying Amy is Maltese pianist Christine, who has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in various venues and festivals around the UK and overseas.

As an award-winning musician, she is in high demand as a collaborative pianist.

Playing in such a bright and vibrant place will be a pleasure
Amy said:

“We are delighted to be performing at Earl Mountbatten Hospice in such a wonderful concert series. Music is truly special and has the ability to transform us and take us places, and playing in such a bright and vibrant place will be a pleasure.

“We will be performing a variety of music from Milhaud’s energetic Scaramouche suite to Vaughan Williams’ beautiful Six Studies in English Folksong, rounded off with the exhilarating Pequena Czarda by Itturalde.”

Nigel Hartley, Chief Executive, said:

“We are very fortunate to have such high caliber musicians performing for us here at the hospice, and we acknowledge the support of West Wight Arts Association in securing some of them to play here.

“We’d also encourage people to attend the Association’s concert at 7pm on Saturday 10 December in the Memorial Hall, Freshwater.”
