Shanklin Man Impersonates Police Officer To See Kasabian At Festival

Some people will do anything to see their favourite band.

Clip from TelegraphAccording to a report on The Telegraph Website today, one man from Shanklin was so fixated on getting into the Isle of Wight festival to see Kasabian play a few weeks ago, that all sense went out of the window.

Daniel Tredinnick decided to break into a police car, steal a female officer’s uniform and then enter the festival pretending he was a police officer.

The report says that he was given a 16-week suspended sentence after pleading guilty to the offence.

Helpful impersonator
The lack of a longer sentence may have been due to the fact that whilst impersonating a police officer at the festival, Daniel assisted in a number of situations; helping to find a missing woman, breaking up a fight and helping paramedics as they treated an injured festival-goer.

Through his Barrister he said, “it was childish and quite ridiculous but it seemed like a good idea at the time.”
