This weekend sees yet more innovation from the team at Boojum and Snark in Sandown.
The bar and nano-brewery on Sandown’s High Street will be spending the next three days celebrating the role of women in the beer industry.
The Other Half Festival
Since they founded Boojum&Snark in 2019, Julie Jones-Evans and Tracy Mikich have always been keen to celebrate and raise awareness of women’s roles in the industry, and so The Other Half Festival was conceived.
Taking place from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th June, this first for the Island will showcase beers brewed and produced by women.
Breweries being featured include Hand Brew Co, Burnt Mill Brewery and Urban Island Brewing Co.
What to expect
Tracy says,
“From brewsters to brewery owners and beertenders, we plan to shine a light on the valuable contribution women are making in the beer industry.
“Boojum will be showcasing beers such as Surround Sound, created by head brewer Kate Hyde at the Hand Brewery, as well as Get The Onyx by Sophie de Ronde at Burnt Mill. Not forgetting our very own Snark, a pale ale brewed by Julie Jones-Evans.”
Boojum and Snark will be open midday to 7pm on Friday and Saturday, as well as midday to 8pm on Sunday.
Where to find them
Boojum&Snark is based at 105 High Street, Sandown.
