Some of you will already have heard about the revamp of ClubK in Newport.
And you might also have heard that the dark and (imho) dingey club is to be replaced with a new multipurpose community venue for musical, artistic and healing based activities.
It all sounds great and I look forward to having a look in person as to what they have to offer, but in the meantime, here’s some blurb from their press department.

- the studio has been lovingly restored and updated with state of the art sound system, lighting equipment and sprung dance floor to squash court standard using re-cycled Victorian floorboards achieving a minimal warehouse feel.
- the studio has a wireless cafe and bar downstairs with Juice bar, all day food including soup, panini’s nachos, baked potatoes and salads”¦open from 10am – 2am
- The Studio cafe is also an art gallery space in association with Quay Arts.

- the studio is proud to present Good Friday : a new monthly Friday night mixing Laughing Yoga, Vocal Workshops and 5 Rhythms Dance classes followed by a good few hours dancing to Tribal Modern Rhythms”¦.with Esoteric talks and debates run by Relax in the Juice Bar and Cafe downstairs there is something for everyone that wishes to dance and let go without the usual clubbing habits! “¦Bar open too!
- the studio has theatre facilities so would welcome drama clubs looking for somewhere new to run”¦.this multi purpose venue will also be available for private hire such as; wedding parties, launches, conferences, exhibitions and even an arts and craft market on a Saturday!
- the studio is delighted to host a once a month Record Company Showcase Night called “Coming Soon””¦with independent labels showcasing their new and established bands and DJ’s ; labels lined up are Sunday Best, Tru Thoughts, Ninja, Trojan, Fingerlickin’ “¦.so new music to dance to delivered right to our door!
- the studio is a space for everyone. And as we open onto the new bus depot we would like to encourage you to be Clean and Green to use the buses”¦they run all night now!
