This is one on the most impressive uses of technology that we’ve ever seen. So impressive that you almost can’t believe that it’s real, but looking around, reputable Web sites say that they’ve been testing it and it appears to work.
It’s an iPhone application that let’s you point your phone at Spanish text and it will, real-time and without an Internet connection, show you the English translation – laid on top of the original, in the same type. Phenomenal.

UPDATE 10:09 Islander Andy is out in Spain currently and took the opportunity to do some live testing to the App.
His on-the-spot reaction? “What it does is a neat trick … the translations seem to be word for word, which can lead to some deciphering..i would think it could come in really useful for the traveller who has little knowledge of the language.. i will test a little more over the weekend and give you a better review if you like.”
