Police investigate weekend reports of explosions

Police investigating a series of loud bangs that occurred in the Sandown area over the weekend are appealing for members of the public to be cautious if they find any suspicious devices.

Started Friday evening
The first incident was reported at 7.30pm on Friday, 4th January in the evening and then later that night a concerned member of the public called the police at 12.30am after hearing a very loud noise in Yaverland, whilst the third explosion was reported at 2.30am in the vicinity of Perowne Way.

Some minor damage to property
There was some minor damage to property and police are urging members of the public that if they come across any homemade fireworks, not to touch them but to contact the police straight away as these items are dangerous.
