Les Cupis - Ryde Harriers

40 mile ultra awaits Les in the Brecon Beacons

Thanks to Tom for this latest update from the Ryde Harriers. Ed

This coming weekend Les Cupis heads off to Wales for the final time this year for the last Might Contain Nuts event, a 40 mile ultra in the Brecon Beacons with the chance of winning his age category still very much up for grabs.

47 miles in 9hrs 28mins
His most recent race, just over two weeks ago and also in the Brecons, saw another fine performance as he finished the 47 miles of the Likeys Ultra in 9hrs 28mins.

It takes some people that long to drive that distance around the M25.

Ryde Harriers winter series
Ryde Harriers are now deep into their Winter series with the latest run a five mile nominated route that loops out towards Binstead before doglegging back through Haylands before the speedy final couple of miles down Well Street and along the seafront.

The nominated run is won by the athlete nearest to their stated time with no watches allowed to be worn. Most accurate on the night was Mandy Womack who was only five seconds short of her nomination of 40 mins whilst Rosie Eldridge was second seven seconds outside her time and Sarah Kavanagh third coming in 18 seconds in front of her time but just behind first woman Julie King, who crossed in 36.33. First runner home was guest Connor Ambrosini who was just short of break 30 minutes for five miles again with his time of 30:12.
