Cllr Mosdell says the abuse that she and her daughter were subjected to during the consultation to scrap the cross-Solent travel scheme was unacceptable.
Concern was raised by Cllr Mosdell that the scheme as currently penned, only covers patients needing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and renal dialysis, but not those, for example, with significant neurological issues.
At the last full council meeting the leader of the Isle of Wight council, Dave Stewart, said he would reply in writing to questions posed by the Islander presenting the 3,300+ signature petition opposing cuts to cross-Solent travel for those receiving cancer treatment or renal dialysis on the mainland. Over five weeks later and still no response.
The CEO reminded members that the decision to scrap the funding, as suggested by Director of Adult Social Care, had already been made but was yet to be ratified.
Plans to scrap the Cross Solent Travel Scheme will "put people’s lives at risk and strike fear in the hearts of many, who are already physically and emotionally compromised by their diagnosis of Cancer or kidney disease", say health campaigners.
