CycleWight say if the Isle of Wight Council is committed to sustainable transport, incorporating their proposals for St Mary's junction plans could be the first step in a programme to create a higher standard of provision.
Isle of Wight council will be carrying out a significant junction transformation at St Mary’s Roundabout starting Autumn 2019.
The works are expected to take 15 months to complete and will result in the removal of the roundabout and replacing it with a series of traffic lights.
The controversial scheme has been met with great opposition, with the Conservative ward councillor, Matthew Price, even opposing it.
