Carbon cycle celebrations return to Newport

Newport is going to be buzzing this weekend with so many events taking place there.

The Carbon Cycle Celebration is returning to the County Town on Saturday, with four hours of activities for all the family.

It takes place in St James’ Square between 11am and 3pm and features environmental talks, stalls, live music (from Derek Sandy and Mudshark) as well as lots of cycling activities for kids and grown-ups!

Two major themes
This year organisers are combining two major themes: Sustainable Transport (ie the bike) and Local Produce.

The “I Love Island Milk campaign” will be there too and we hear there may even be a couple of calves for you to go gooey over.

At 3pm there will be an ‘Abundance Scrumping Cycleride; to Cowes when Suzie Mundell from Incredible Edibles will guide everyone along the cyclepath to pick blackberries, apples and other goodies!

Thanks to Tanja for sharing details of this upcoming event.
