Education cuts never heal :

Find out which schools will be affected by next week’s strike action (updated)

As reported earlier in the week, members of the Isle of Wight NUT will be taking part in industrial action next week.

Public sector unions will be joining forces to strike on 10th July, with a rally organised outside County Hall at 11am on the same day.

UNSION tell OnTheWight that staff working at Isle of Wight Academies were not balloted by them to take part in the strike because they are no longer paid by the council.

List of schools affected
The Isle of Wight council has provided details of which schools intend to close as a result of the action.

The spreadsheet below, which will be updated live on the day, shows whether schools are ‘due to open’, confirmed as ‘Open’, ‘partially closed’ (eg. only certain year groups may be affected) or closed.

The council say,

Schools listed as ‘Due to open’ are scheduled to be open on the day, but are not yet in a position to confirm if they will be affected by the strike action. Parents should assume these schools will be open as normal until advised otherwise.

Schools listed as ‘Confirmed as open’ will be open as normal.

Schools listed as ‘Partially closed’ will be open on the day but will be operating a changed timetable. Any information about changes to the school’s day will be posted below.

Schools listed as ‘Closed’ will be closed due to the strike action.

Use the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet to move between Primary, Secondary and Special schools.
