A new mobile App that has been developed from the ground up on the Isle of Wight over the last couple of years has been officially launched this week.
The DineWight App allows its users to search for local restaurants, takeaways, and food delivery in one place to find their next favourite places to eat, whatever the occasion or craving.
The founder of DineWight, Ellis Lynas, says it is the only food App you need to discover all the best restaurants for dining-in, takeaways, and food delivery on the Isle of Wight.
What it offers
The App allows you to see photos, menus, the number of dietary options, ratings and reviews, hygiene ratings, booking and ordering options, and more to help you decide where to eat within a matter of seconds.
The App also features restaurant rankings in the DineWight Charts, a way of keeping up-to-date with the newest and most popular restaurants on the Isle of Wight.
A comprehensive directory
With a comprehensive directory, the DineWight App shows all restaurants nearby, not just those who pay to be included, giving you unrivalled number of restaurants to choose from.
Ellis says that at least 50 new restaurants will continue to be added to DineWight every month until every restaurant on the Isle of Wight has been included.
Book through other partners
Another advantage of the DineWight App, is being able to book a table or order a takeaway through the restaurants’ chosen partners, such as OpenTable, Deliveroo, or Just Eat.
At time of publishing, the App was No.90 in the Apple App Food and Drink Chart.
Lynas: Using multiple Apps and Websites was time consuming, frustrating, and very limiting
DineWight founder, Ellis Lynas, explains how the App came about. He said,
“As an Islander and self-confessed foodie, the problem I was faced with was finding good restaurants that were suitable for everyone in our party and that maybe weren’t our usual favourites, as we like to try somewhere new every now and again.
“I found there was no one App or Website to make finding a restaurant as easy as it should be. I would use multiple Apps and Websites which was time consuming, frustrating, and very limiting.
“DineWight is now the Isle of Wight’s go-to App to find restaurants, combing dining-in, takeaway, and food delivery with everything you need to know into one convenient App.”
Share your feedback
Ellis says the feedback so far from a short period of open testing has been great, but with this official launch they invite foodies, Islanders, and anyone interested to download the DineWight App and let them know what you think.
