All praise to Natalie Hyde for braving the cold weather and having her fabulous Afro shaved off to raise money for two charities as well donate her hair for young cancer sufferers.
Last year the 70 wonderful volunteer watchkeepers kept lookout at Needles Coastwatch for 6,710 hours, maintaining the station for 365 days in all weathers. Well done to them all!
Described as a dedicated team of "volunteer guardian angels on the cliffs", the Needles National Coastwatch team recently passed re-assessment of their Declared Facility Status.
