Trespasser on train line understood to be woman with baby

An incident on Islandline trains at St John’s Road, Ryde yesterday caused delays and led to services being rescheduled.

Passengers at Ryde Esplanade waiting for the 15.08 reported there were “trespassers on the line and that the power had been turned off while police were called”.

Police confirmed this morning that they attended an incident at St John’s Road Train Station at 15.30 on 5th June after staff reported to be concerned about the safety of two members of the public.

Report of woman and baby
Reports made to OnTheWight by passengers were that it was a woman and a baby. Police have declined to confirm these details.

However, police do say that no one was injured and they are continuing to investigate the incident.
