Due to a technical problem Hovertravel will only be running a one craft service for the rest of the day. Passengers not wanting to use the rush hour shuttle service can travel on Wightlink and will be transferred by Hoverbus.
Passengers were moved between two Hovercraft on Ryde Sands on Sunday after a problem with the fan belt on one of the new craft. OnTheWight has the account of one of the passengers rescued.
The newest craft, the Solent Flyer and Island Flyer, have been taken out of service until at least October, with the older Freedom 90 and Island Express taking over the service.
