Britten, Roe, Williams inspired compositions take centre stage at Tritone’s next concert

Last updated:

Following the success of their Christmas and Spring concerts, Tritone Singers, under the direction of Richard Wilkins, are pleased to announce their final offering of the musical year, Over Hill, Over Dale.

Taking place on Saturday 10th June, the choir will present an early summer concert on the theme of Flora and Fauna. There will be daffodils, primroses, hills and dales, a frog, a cat, a seagull, and a blue bird!

Featured composers
Featured composers including Vaughan Williams, Britten, and Betty Roe, have been inspired by the poetry of Shakespeare, Wordsworth, John Clare, and Jacqui Froom, among others, to set the texts of these outstanding writers.

Their words are the seeds which enable the composer to create music which in turn conveys the meaning of the texts to the listener.

The choir’s aim is to reflect the interplay between the poets’ text and the composers’ interpretation. Tritone Singers look forward to entertaining you.

The concert starts at 7pm at All Saints Church, Gurnard, on Saturday 10th June.
