The eighth meeting Cafe Scientifique takes place tonight (Monday) In the Regency Room at the Shanklin Conservative Club.
The speaker will be Dr Alan Chambers, a senior lecturer in the department of Materials Engineering at Southampton University.
He’ll be talking about “Engineering in Medicine, Art, Fashion & Sport”.
This will include such subjects as stress testing historical tapestries and why our first fleet of commercial jet aircraft, the Comets, had several tragic crashes.
