To celebrate Farmhouse Breakfast Week, West Wight Sports Centre, in conjunction with Natural Enterprise, is holding “come and try session” on Saturday, 26 January from 8.45 am – 12.30 pm. Each sporting participant will receive a free breakfast made from locally produced Isle of Wight food.

Sponsored by the NFU the event is expected to attract more than 250 participants of all ages. Activities on offer include Bokwa, lane swimming, and a five-a-side football competition.

Locally produced ingredients
The free Farmhouse Breakfast will be a bacon roll, sausage bap or scrambled eggs – all locally produced of course!

Brighstone Stores will also be selling local produce at the Sports Centre and there will be a display by Calbourne Water Mill, the only working flour mill on the Island.

There will also be a chance to see where eggs come from – with a chicken (real chickens!) show taking place, a chance to have a look round farm machinery which will be parked up in the car park and some farm animals.
