Dawn Chorus Recorded (podcast) & DropBox

Song Birds Recorded & DropBoxGetting up at silly o’clock this morning, I was messaged by Julian Winslow who was also up early for an assignment.

He suggested having a listen to the birds and with Ian Boyd’s words about bird song still ringing in my ears, I opened the window.

As is our bent, it also seemed like a good idea to record it to share with you just in case you weren’t up at 05:15 this morning.

Although it looked like there was no wind around this morning, there clearly was a little, so a bit of rumble at the beginning of the recording and a little through out.

If you fancy having a listen, you can right click on this link and save the file, or listen to it below. [audio:http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1117397/Audio/2009.05.13%200515%20-%20Song%20birds%2C%20Ventnor3.mp3]

If you can identify the birds who are tweeting away, please let us know.

DropBox – Free to share files
The bird song recording is around 48 Mb, so we didn’t want to use up our bandwidth further (we already use a ton of it!), so have elected to use DropBox

It’s a zero cost, well-executed service that gives you 2 Gb of free space, making it really easy to both backup your own files or share them freely with friends.

There’s a referral service, which if you sign up for an account, both we and you get an extra 250Mb of free storage to use.

So if you feel the urge, follow the link to find out more … and maybe sign up.
