Isle of Wight council’s children’s social care services: Inadequate to Good in six years

After being rated Inadequate by Ofsted in 2012 the government insisted IWC partner with another authority's Children's Services and after teaming up with Hampshire, five year's later the IWC's social care service is now rated as Good.

Isle of Wight primary school criticised by Ofsted

The inspector said teaching was not good enough and ‘confused’ pupils did not make enough progress, but the Executive Headteacher said that staff and pupils had worked extremely hard and the inspectors recognised the strengths in the school.

The school had a short inspection at the end of July, and the inspector found priorities for improvement — including addressing a decline in overall performance and a ‘sharp drop’ in progress and attainment in writing.
