Electric Bike from Axcess Electric BikesOn hearing the news today about the survey results which have come out regarding how much we can do to avoid cancer, I felt compelled to write.

Obviously it is in our own hands to stop smoking, to drink less and eat a better diet. The really difficult one is getting regular exercise and trying to keep a bit in shape.

50 something fitness dilemma
Ten years ago I used to be 40 something, and now I’m 50 something and as I’ve got older I certainly don’t do any sport, although I have tried the gym a few times.

But I would rather exercise in private really, and I certainly don’t enjoy running on a treadmill, worrying about my wobbly bits, breathing in everyone else’s sweat spores, with the choice of either looking at a blank wall or a 20 something babe in Lycra (even the last option hasn’t enticed my husband into the gym!)

Successful lifestyle change
But I have successfully had a small lifestyle change when I bought an electric bike from Axcess Electric Bikes in Lake.

The exercise it gives me is a pleasure – not a chore.

It is never hard work, but I can FEEL it helping my circulation.

I don’t get puffed out and my whole body is being exercised. I love taking the electric bike out.

Get good use out of it
I nip to the shops, I help out at a Care Home a couple of days a week, and I go there on the bike and sometimes I just go out because it makes me feel better.

After about three months, my trousers were getting loose and I’ve lost nearly two inches off my waist and almost an inch off my thighs! I’ve only lost a few pounds though, so the fact of the matter is I’m more TONED! OMG! As they say.

It’s changed my life
The simple life style change I’ve had with my electric bike has stopped me eating stodgy comfort food which was making me fatter and also makes me feel rubbish.

Breathing the lovely fresh air in the lanes has put me off the few cigarettes I used to have too.

Take my advice. Make a simple life style change – get an electric bike.
