Going Electric 2023: From Tesla to e-bikes – Exploring the Island’s biggest EV show

Excitement is building for the return of the 2023 Going Electric event – which returns to Isle of Wight College on Sunday 30th July after the highly successful inaugural event in 2022 – promising to be even bigger and better.

With almost 40 trade stands providing information on everything from the latest EVs and EV charging to renewable energy, marine innovations, green home ideas, an EV Driving School and more, this is an event not to be missed.

The Island’s largest EV and green technology show
Last year saw almost 1,000 visitors to what was the largest electric vehicle (EV) and green technology show to take place on the Island.

This year is even bigger with many more EV models on display from the Island’s leading main dealers including Leslies Motor Group, Esplanade, Premier Motors, Central Garage, Snows, Harwoods and Nixon Automotive. Adding to this are all electric light commercial vehicles.

You can also ‘Meet the owner’ and ask fellow Islanders about the benefits of EVs and how they fit into their lives including the latest models from Tesla.

Visit the Bike Zone
The popular ‘Bike Zone’ is bigger than before, giving everyone the opportunity to try out the latest e-bikes from Wight Bike, CycleWight, Keert and mobility charity, Isle Access.

Island based EV driving school EVO Driver Training, will be on hand plus specialist consultants EV Express and Vehicle Consulting all giving advice to current and future EV owners and drivers.

Mainland exhibitors
The popularity of the event is also attracting exhibitors from the mainland including classic car conversion business Retro Electric and Solar Bee with their garden mounted sun tracking solar arrays.

Plus specialist companies and advisors including MedTec, Mission Zero Business Hub and Future Isle of Wight together with Renewable Energy Experts, Island Renewables.

This broad appeal is further reflected in specialists Island Mobility showing the latest in all electric mobility scooters through to Richardsons Yacht Services and Cunningham marine displaying the best in marine electric products.

Where and when
Scheduled to run from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 30th July, the event offers free admission and ample parking at the Isle of Wight College.
