Headbutted man loses teeth in ‘unprovoked’ pub incident

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in a pub in Newport.

The assault took place between midnight and 1am on Sunday, May 22, at the Hogshead pub in High Street.

The 19-year-old victim was headbutted by a man he did not know, which caused damage to his two front teeth.

The attacker is described as white, with dark hair, aged around 30, and wore a white t-shirt with a Henleys logo.

Unprovoked attack
PC Robert Quick said:

“This was an unprovoked attack where the victim was approached on the dancefloor by an unknown male and was headbutted in the mouth.

“The pub was very busy at the time and I would appeal for anyone who saw the assault to come forward.”
