RSPCA Isle of Wight, is calling on local businesses and organisations to support its Corporate Volunteer Day on 12th June 2026.
What the day involves
The day offers the opportunity to get involved and make a tangible difference to the charity’s work at the Island Animal Centre near Godshill.
Volunteers could spend a few hours helping around the centre with time to meet the many animals cared for by the charity.
Backhouse: A meaningful difference in their local community
Steve Backhouse, Branch Director on the Isle of Wight, commented,
“Spending a few hours volunteering with your work colleagues can be an incredibly positive experience.
“As well as being fun and rewarding for those taking part, it’s a great way for local businesses to make a meaningful difference in their local community. As a local charity, we rely on support from across the Isle of Wight to continue our work with animals that need us most.”

Rogers: Something we felt could contribute to the animals’ overall quality of life
Nick Rogers, one of the team from Prospect Mortgages who already volunteers at the centre added:
“As a small business based on the Island, we were keen to look for a way to give something back to the community we work in.
“Additional human contact can make a big difference to the animals at the shelter, so arranging time off for our staff to help was something we felt could contribute to the animals’ overall quality of life.”

About RSPCA Isle of Wight
Founded in the 1950s, RSPCA Isle of Wight is an independent charity, supporting the work of the RSPCA at a local level.
Less than 10% of its income comes from the RSPCA national charity, so support from local donors, fundraisers and businesses is vital to its ongoing work.
