Jasmine ensures that coffee is a real lifesaver

Cowes RNLI Lifeboat Station was able to benefit from a coffee morning on the other side of the Isle of Wight, thanks to 18 year old Jasmine Steele.

Jasmine, a pupil of Ventnor’s St Catherine’s School, decided that following on from a visit to the school by Cowes lifeboat members she would organise a coffee morning as part of her Duke of Edinburgh bronze medal.

As a result she was able to hand over £47.23 to the station – half the profit from the event. The other half was donated to the Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat Station.

The cheque for the Cowes station was presented on crew night by Jasmine to Deputy Launching Authority Harry Leslie.
