Letter: The real cost of the Conservative Government’s migration stance

This from Callum Harris, Ventnor. Ed

The Conservative Government has spent over £140m of taxpayers’ money with Rwanda, yet not a single migrant has been sent there. They have also spent £millions with the French Government to stop the flow of migrants crossing the Channel with little effect.

Currently we are spending over £6m a day putting up migrants in hotels. And let’s not even talk about the Bibi Stockholm farce.

Crisis created by the Conservative Government
There are over 160,000 migrants currently being held in the UK, with around four a week being processed.

This crisis has been created exclusively by a Conservative Government who have spent the last thirteen years cutting the number of Home Office officials and immigration officers capable of processing migrant claims.

Funding could have recruited more officials
Imagine if a fraction of this money had been used to recruit more officials trained to process these migrants? Instead we are fed a pack of lies that the problem is a result of lefty lawyers and the Labour Party.

I mean, really? Not even the thickest Tory is stupid enough to believe that.

Abolition of our Human Rights
So what is really going on? The truth is, the whole farce has been engineered to whip up anger and make a case for the UK to leave the European Court of Human Rights………God help every one of us if that ever happened.

Let’s be honest, abolishing Human Rights would be a dream come true for this intellectually and morally bankrupt Government.
