Lively Isle of Wight Writing Workshop With The Write Stuff

If you’re interested in developing your writing skills, this series of workshops being held at The Blacksheep in Ryde (8-10 June) by Barbara Jane Mackie should be of interest.

Barbara Jane MackieWith an extensive background in producing, writing and developing BBC dramas ‘Dangerfield’, ‘Bad Company’ and ‘Dalziel and Pascoe’, Barbara has developed her own writing over the years and had recently completed her first novel, the romantic comedy, ‘Eat the View.’

A Lecturer in screenwriting at Portsmouth and Southampton Solent Universities, Barbara has extensive experience of teaching and leading dynamic writing workshops and has recently received her Masters degree in Creative Writing.

The Write Stuff – Lively, inspiring and supportive
Taking place in mid-June, the second in a series of three day workshop promises to be fun, lively and inspiring. Writing exercises and literary techniques will be taught in a warm and supportive atmosphere.

If you’re a writer just starting out, or an established writer looking to invigorate your work, this workshop will help you along your way.

Blacksheep Bar:Barbara explains, “There is a lot of fear around writing, even with writers who are itching to write and clearly talented. I found that myself, when starting my novel, so I want to share with other writers the steps I took.”

The cost of the three day workshop is £130 – this includes lunches, teas and coffees.

Day Two: Writing for Television
Award-winning TV script-writer Robin Mukherjee. (‘The Bill’, ‘Casualty’). Creating scenes. Creating plot and great Characters.

Day Three: Writing for Children and Teens
With Children’s Author J.M. Carr.

A final finish with a three day Writing Festival, ‘Write here, Write now’ takes place at The Black Sheep in July.

Guest speakers from the TV and Literary world will be invited to the festival.
