Ryde School A-Level Results 2011

As those around people waiting for their A-level results know all-to-well, today is the day for results. We hope everyone is getting what they wished for.

Crossed fingersWe had this update in from Ryde School in their words this morning, with their results.

We haven’t had any in from other Island Schools, but would be happy to put them out too, if they want to send them to us. Ed

This year we enjoyed our best ever results and we are delighted by the success of all our pupils: 18% of our entries earned A* grades; 57% of our entries earned A* or A grades; 79% of entries were A*, A or B grades; 92% of entries were A*-C grades; our pass rate was 99.6%. These brilliant results reflect both the hard work of our pupils and the excellence of our teaching.

89% of pupils achieved a mixture of A*-B grades
We are delighted that just under a third of our students gained at least one A* grade this year (this means that these students needed to achieve at least 90% in their A2 examinations), and it is an outstanding statistic that 89% of our pupils purely achieved a mixture of A*-B grades.

We have a list of 29 pupils who achieved 3 A grades or better: Katie Ager, Gargie Ahmed, Oliver Baldwin, Oliver Blanthorn, Rachel Boswell, Alexa Boswell, Madaleine Bowes, Diana Cirimpei, Robert Clifton, Katherine Dixey, Pippa Draper, Harry Fisher, Jodie Green, Mari Haamer, Nicholas Hadfield, Justin Hau, Richard Henshaw, Toby Lewis, Lizzie Lovegrove, Keno Mario-Ghae, Michael McCree, Fiona Middleton, Carole Ng, Oshine Saxena, Peter Snell, Edward Stanford-Clark, Emily Stratton, Joanna Talbot and Liam Thomas.

Our highest achievers this year were: with 3 A* and 1 A grades Katherine Dixey, Harry Fisher, Jodie Green and Lizzie Lovegrove; Robert Clifton with 4A* grades and Justin Hau achieved a fantastic 5 A* grades.

High achievements
We are particularly pleased with Rydeians’ performance Maths and the Sciences, in which 72% of the students achieved A* or A grades, and in Modern Languages where 81% of entries were at A grade.
