Carnival season has started on the Isle of Wight and the Ventnor Carnival Committee have been working hard to make sure that residents and holidaymakers can get the very most out of Carnival week here in Ventnor.
We’ll be bringing you reminders of the events nearer the time, but for now, stick these dates in your diaries to make sure you don’t miss out.

Carnival Slide Show at the Winter Gardens, 7pm

Morning Service at Saint Catherine’s Church 11am
Carnival Quiz Night 7.30pm
Monday 10th August
Holiday Princess, Bonny Baby etc 2.30pm
Seafront Race 7.00pm
Tuesday 11th August
Scruffs Dog Show. Salisbury Gardens from 2.30pm
Rings Competition at the Royal British Legion starts 7.30pm
Wednesday 12th August – Carnival Day
Children’s Procession from Dudley Road (1.45 pm) to Park with crowning of Queens 2.30pm
Main Parade – judging from 5.30pm moves off from Dudley Road 7.00 pm
Carnival Fireworks Display on Ventnor Esplanade (weather permitting) between 9 and 10pm
Thursday 13th August
Putting on the Green – in the Park 10am – 4pm
Darts from 7.00pm at the Rose Inn
Feature film at the Winter Gardens at 7.30pm
Friday 14th August
Barn Dance at the Winter Gardens – from 6.30pm
Saturday 15th August
Illuminated Procession – starts from Dudley Road at 7.45pm – Bar-B-Q at Volunteer on route.
