Wight Wolves rugby team - after a match covered in mud

Wight Wolves, the Island’s only women and girls rugby team, is hosting a touch rugby tournament

Wight Wolves, the Island’s only women and girls rugby team, is hosting a touch rugby tournament at IWRFC, Footways, Wootton on Sunday 13th November from 1pm.

They have up to six teams travelling over from the mainland to participate, so would love to see as many Islanders as possible turning up to support the tournament.

Open to all women from 12 upwards
Claire Mumford told News OnTheWight,

“Wolves is open to all women from age of 12 upwards and we have been struggling for numbers since Covid, so to host this is a fantastic opportunity for us.

“Girls can play in the touch tournament from the age of 14, but the more players we can get the more chances we have to create contact teams and enter other competitions.”

Kit sponsors sought
The team also looking for a sponsor for a new kit, so if you have a business that could help, get in touch via their social media page
