Workwear Island Charity Football Match aims for £2,000 fundraising target in two weeks

With just two weeks to go until the highly anticipated Workwear Island Charity Football Match, excitement is building as the event edges closer to its £2,000 fundraising target on JustGiving.

Taking place on Sunday, 25th May at Brading Football Club, the match promises to be the go-to event for the end of the May Bank Holiday.

Mini-matches for children
The action kicks off at 10am, with the main match scheduled to start at 2pm. After the main game, the pitch will host mini-matches for children, including Under-10s and Under-14s, offering young players a chance to take to the field. Visitors will be able to enjoy football games and inflatables from Football Fun Factory, there’s a bouncy castle and bucking football ride plus it is dog friendly.

Stalls and entertainment
Visitors can enjoy stalls and entertainment throughout the day, with half-time music from Island favourite Derek Sandy and full-time celebrations featuring Catch 22 and DJ Carl Wright.

In memory of Ellie’s Mum
The charity match was established last year by Ellie Moore, owner of Workwear Island, in memory of her late mother. Ellie’s vision was to unite local businesses and tradespeople in a friendly but fiercely competitive football match, all to raise vital funds for Mountbatten.

The second annual event is set to be even bigger, with over 30 tradesmen and business owners already signed up to play. The event is proudly sponsored by Capital Jewellers and PC Consultants, showing strong local business support.

Where and when
The event takes place on Sunday 25th May at Brading Football Club from 10am.

Children can attend the event for free, while there is a suggested £5+ donation for adults.

Guests are invited to stay into the evening to enjoy drinks and food from the Brading Football Club team, who have supported the event from the outset.
