The roadshow was organised by BAE Systems, who spent the morning with students from Year 7 and 8 and aims to get young people interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) .
Ryde is known as ‘the Gateway to the Isle of Wight’ due to its Victorian pier where the Wightlink passenger ferry arrives. Hovertravel’s Hover also has a terminal here.
The shopping in Ryde is well-renowned with lots of independent shops.
Ryde has very large, shallow beaches and parks to match, making it a popular destination during the summer.
It’s also the largest conurbation on the Isle of Wight.
