Two of the Isle of Wight’s museums will be offering hands-on family fun during next week’s half-term break, with activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young visitors.
Run by the Isle of Wight council’s Heritage Service, the events offer a low-cost day out with something for all ages.
Discover Anglo-Saxon runes at the Museum of Island History
On Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th May, from 10am to 1pm, the Museum of Island History in Newport will host craft sessions where children can make their own bracelet or bedroom door sign.
The designs will draw inspiration from Anglo-Saxon runes and patterns taken from real artefacts found on the Island.
Visitors can also take part in a themed trail through the museum, uncovering highlights from its collection that spans prehistory to the modern era.
Build your own catapult at Newport Roman Villa
