Jazzy Welcome Planned For Chinese Visitors

Children from Niton Primary School who’ve been learning Mandarin will be amongst those greeting Chinese teachers and education officials when they arrive on the Isle of Wight tomorrow.

Musical Welcome Planned For Chinese VisitorsMembers of the Carisbrooke High School Jazz Band will also be welcoming the contingent by creating a jazzy atmosphere when they arrive at Ryde Pier at around 7pm tomorrow evening.

The party of eleven, who are travelling from schools in the Jiangbei District of Chongqing in China, will be making visits to several Island schools over the course of three days.

It’s hoped that they will be able absorb local lesson techniques and culture at ‘partner schools’ on the Island.

The trip which is being funded by the British Council will also include a civic reception at County Hall.
