Mountbatten Group named UK Hospice of the Year at national Charity Today Awards

The Mountbatten Group, which includes Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire, has been named UK Hospice of the Year and the winner of the People’s Choice Award at the national Charity Today Awards 2025.

The announcement was made during a gala lunch in Peterborough on Wednesday (15th October). The awards were sponsored by Sinclair Method UK.

Recognition for compassion and innovation
The UK Hospice of the Year award honours an outstanding hospice that demonstrates exceptional compassion, innovation and excellence in end-of-life care.

It recognises organisations that offer holistic, person-centred support for patients and their families, going above and beyond in the most sensitive of circumstances.

Public support across the UK
The People’s Choice Award celebrates a charity, fundraiser, or volunteer whose work has captured the hearts of communities across the UK.

Mountbatten secured the accolade after receiving 82 per cent of the public vote.

Gratitude from Mountbatten’s CEO
Mountbatten CEO, Becky McGregor, said,

“Every day, staff and volunteers at Mountbatten Hampshire and Mountbatten Isle of Wight strive to be bold — helping people live well for as long as possible and supporting their friends and family, 24/7.

“The People’s Choice Award recognises the vital part our hospices play in our Hampshire and Isle of Wight communities and we are so very grateful for your support. Thank you for voting for us!

“Being named UK Hospice of the Year is a wonderful accolade and one that all our past and present staff, volunteers and trustees have worked so hard to deserve but, at the heart of everything we do, are the people we care for and those close to them.

“We have accepted this award on behalf of all of those who deliver and rely on our vital services.”
